Our mission
We live in a time where just about anything is possible. That’s wonderful, of course, but also challenging! Traditionally, we lived according to certain values and ‘the’ way of life was more or less dictated. Now we are free to choose. To decide for ourselves how we shape our lives and to answer important life questions. Who am I? How do I give meaning to life? De Kwekerij offers a space for this.

On top of that, modern times leave little room for patience… We live in a performance-driven society, where what you do seems more important than who you are. A vast array of possibilities and opportunities can lead to choice overload and a sense of restlessness. Finally, there is a lot of pressure on students and young professionals to figure it all out on their own, and in our view, there is too little space for vulnerability.
As a student or young professional, you sometimes need reflection and a slower pace to consider important themes and give your own meaning to life. At De Kwekerij, you are welcome to get started with this!
Our team
At De Kwekerij, we grow together. Our team consists of passionate ‘kwekers’ (our teachers and facilitators), a dedicated core team working behind the scenes, and of course the founders who once planted the seed. Together with our marketing team, coordinators, and volunteers, we ensure that every encounter flourishes—whether it’s a class, a dinner, or a conversation. Each team member contributes in their own way to an environment where people can grow, connect, and slow down.

About the founder
Guy Wijnen
Over the past nine years, I have dedicated myself to young adults through De Kwekerij, because this phase of life requires making many choices. De Kwekerij organizes encounters where themes such as peace, ideals, and dealing with setbacks are discussed openly. Always in a safe environment, led by a trainer.
De Kwekerij is a place where valuable encounters happen for various groups. Not just young adults, but also seniors and newcomers. I want to bring these groups together, because it’s important that we occasionally break out of our bubbles. That we see and speak to one another. That we laugh together and help each other. That way, we gain (more) appreciation for one another.
