Our mentorship program

In a world that is constantly in motion, meaningful guidance is very welcome. De Kwekerij’s mentorship program brings together experienced professionals and committed young people to learn and grow. This program is specially developed for people who value social commitment and meaning in their (working) lives, and for mentors who want to guide others on their (career) path based on their own experience.

Why a mentorship program at De Kwekerij?

Personal attention

What does our mentorship program involve?

Through 1-on-1 sessions, mentor and mentee walk together for a while. The conversations take place in an equal setting. Sometimes a mentor also learns something from a mentee. Mentors offer a listening ear and, through personal attention, encourage you to think more deeply about your own development. They contribute their own experience and sometimes their network on themes such as making choices, relationships, and moral ambition.

How are you matched?

Before you start the program, there is a free introductory meeting. This ensures a good match between you and your mentor. After that, you both choose whether to start a series of six sessions (the one-time cost for the matching process is €200).

Interested or have questions? You’ll find the contact form at the bottom of the page.

Our mentors

Porticus

Diederik Slot

Diederik has a wealth of experience in fundraising, team development, and leadership issues. He is available as a mentor for people setting up social projects or looking to develop them sustainably. At the same time, he wonders if he can also be a ‘mentee’ sometimes, reversing or exchanging roles. Diederik knows from experience how valuable a mentor can be—and that, besides practical tips, it’s about encouragement, building trust, and listening with attention.

Margreet Haandrikman

Supervisor & Non-executive Director

Margreet Haandrikman

Are you looking for someone with extensive experience in governance, financial strategy, and an eye for social impact? Then meet Margreet Haandrikman. She is available as a mentor for people working in or having questions about (business) ethics, diversity, and inclusion. She enjoys discussing how to stay on course in a world where technological developments and leadership sometimes seem at odds with these values. She knows how important it is to balance pragmatism and ideals and is someone who embodies both sides. Don’t see her as a mentor who only transfers knowledge, but as an equal sparring partner who also values reflection, critical questions, and mutual learning. Because a good conversation can be just as valuable as strategic advice.

Paul van Oosten

Entrepreneurship within large institutions is nothing new to Paul van Oosten. He first worked as an education coordinator and later as director of the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy at the VU. Later, he served as director at De Diaconie in Amsterdam, an organization dedicated to a city where people look out for one another. Passion and implementing radical changes characterize him—such as converting a building for elderly housing into a social hub with various community initiatives. So, if you have ambitious plans, go for a brisk walk with Paul.

Gerrit Hartog

CFO

Gerrit Hartog

As a CFO, Gerrit Hartog has seen different worlds, from highly commercial to purpose-driven organizations. Alongside his work, he is developing personally through training as an experiential therapist at the Boswijk Institute. His heart for development continues to beat passionately. Gerrit is sensitive, curious, dedicated, and skilled at zooming in and out of complex situations. Are you looking for a sparring partner who can hold up an honest mirror and someone who, by being vulnerable themselves, creates space for your (life) questions?

Intake & Matching

Mentees and mentors sign up via an intake form.
We organize an introductory meeting to discover what questions are being asked and what expectations exist.
Mentor-mentee pairs are carefully matched based on shared values and interests.

Three guided sessions

The program starts with three sessions in which personal and professional challenges are discussed.
Reflection and guidance are central during these conversations.
The sessions can take place in an inspiring environment, such as during a walk or at a meeting place like the greenhouse at De Kwekerij.

Extend or conclude

An evaluation takes place after three sessions: either continue with three additional sessions or complete the program.
We organize a follow-up afternoon for mentors to share experiences and reflect on the process.
